CHARACTER

RACIAL/SPECIAL NOTES: The Vernians are a long lived peaceful people who believe in wisdom gained from reflection on more ancient wisdom, rather than wisdom through discovery. They appear a primative people, and are skeptical or antagonistic towards modern technology. They are a mildly telepathic race capable to share thoughts and concepts up to a range of about 3 meters and lift objects of around 1 Kg.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Pony tail. Raised eyebrow ridge.
PERSONALITY: Victor found that he had a much more practical mind than his kin thought was good for him. He was a Industrial revolutionary in a Pre-renaisonce world. He started to find solutions through practical application rather than quiet refelction. His imagination was limitless, and the things he had thought of as a child were beyond an average adult's imagination. The Elders were even more frustrated by the fact that many of his solutions worked.
PERSONAL HISTORY: As Sterman grew older he tried his best to be placed at the Acadmy. His scores were well below what he needed. And even though he protested, Starfleet entry is one of the hardest in the explored galaxy. Never the less, his instructors saw interest in him and used him in engineering, where he'd have training in the advance technology and maybe he could mix in the old with it. Each year he would try for entry into the Academy and on his seventh attempt, and after a lot of specific coaching by his friends in engineering, he achieved a place. His Academy days were strange. By comparison to his own people Victor was not one keen on research, but he appeared to be better at it than most of his class mates. He just prefered not to if a more practical solution was possible. He saw service during the Dominion war as a cadet in a starbase refit facility near the Klingon border. After he graduated in 2387 he heard about the volunteer position and was eager to volunteer. He wanted to prove himself to his people that he could at least try to make things more advanced with the ability to use the ancient technology. He does not like numbers and equations. Give him a problem, he will usually dismiss it unless it has a practical application. However, give him an item and tell him you want the maximum adjustments, and he can give it to you. If it's broken, you can bet Victor will fix it. It maybe awkward looking, but it'll do the job.
